hi Janet,

the connector you see inside at the rear of the box (it's called a DIN size box, or some such thing) is for the clarion radios. the good news is that the entire DIN box comes out with little trouble, the connecitons are inside, and any competent stereo shop should be able to install a replacment unit. You just need to figure out what you want! The Din box has cables from it that have connectors that plug into the connectors in the car. If your current radio is dead and you are not going to give the radio and Din box away (some do this - certainly not required!) then I suggest you ask the installers to *cut* the wires *between* the DIN box and it's connector and splice the new unit in there. Why? this preverves the internal harness and connectors. You never know when you may decided to get another Saab stock setup and this allows you to plug in directly as is now. Also, allows you to remove the current unit with out a wire cutter! Always a good thing. Again, none of this is required, but sometimes later you might say... gee, I wish I had...
