you could have screwed up badly! (i hope not)
don't drive it anymore! no oil circulating! only bottom end gets oil in this condition.
My experience: it is possible that a tiny piece of cxxp has worked it's way into the pressure relief valve (on oil pump). assuming you have hooked everything up right, the relief valve is a world unto it's own. it's a miracle that thing doesn't grind saab engines to a halt every 10 minutes. i only ever had a problem with it once-luckily my wife knows how much i hate people not paying attention to noises/warning lights, and stopped the car immediately. symtoms: oil light on, noisy top end. full oil. recent filter/flush, oil... started looking, and some bright spark on this site mentioned the relief valve. it is a pain. i kid you not. if you get it out, and back in, without pulling the engine, you will have the marks to prove it. that being said, there is a bolt-like deal on the side of the oil pump (19mm, i think) unscrew that. when you lay under car, orientated length wise with the car (head forward), under the drivers side, you can see it. depending on how big your arms are will dictate wether you can do this, or not. with the bolt removed, use your right hand, little finger, and(have faith) push your finger in that hole- you will feel that there is a tube inside the hole. it comes almost flush with the engine surface. if you can, wedge your finger-tip in the tube, and, using only a gentle wrist movement, remove the tube. you may want to turn the engine over one revolution to push it out (using oil pump pressure). there will be nothing to see, so don't bother looking. the 'bit o cxxp' will just wash away with the oil. blow through the tube-notice a tiny oil way that is machined into it-check it is not blocked, wipe it clean and replace. now, this is when your patience will be tested. use your left arm through the suspension to push on the bolt-it has a spring, and use your right arm on the ratchet. it does go (have faith). start 'er up, and hopefully (if that was the problem) you will have no more oil light. i wish you good luck (nothing more frustrating than a good job well done finishing with problems!)
