As a longtiime lurker in these parts I've first have to say a huge thanks to all of you who make owning and working on C900's such a blast.
As the new owner of a 1989 900S manual trans 16v non turbo w/100k. I'm stuck until my Bentley arrives next week so I'm hoping for some insight and suggestions to get me back on the road.
I was still in the parking lot getting ready to drive home when I noticed the check engine light remained on. I turned the car off and inspected all the new parts(see below) and vac hoses I've installed to ensure that the connections were good. I started driving and didn't even get out of the lot because the car would top out at 2000rpm no matter how much gas I gave it. It just went 'vroom'vroom and stayed at 2000rpm. For fear of flooding/fouling, I shut her down until I have a clue what to look for.
Any and all help's greatly appreciated. New parts: O2 sensor, oil pressure sending unit, thermo switch, dist. cap(bosch), rotor and plugs(ngk)and vacuum hoses. The tach works sometimes and othertimes not, otherwise there have been no drivability issues.
