As far as why I don't have the bracket on, I searched the archives, and found many people who posted that it was unnecessary. Needless to say, after installing the starter w/o it I am concerned at the different noise(albeit much better starting). At this point I will reinstall the bracket, more to eliminate it from the equation then anything else. BUT I still welcome anyone else's opinion on the matter. TIA
