Oxygen Sensor or fuel pump?

I recently returned from vacation and my Saab 900 1991 would not start. I pop started it and it proceded to make loud sputtering noises and jerking motions (the car which had a half tank of gas). The car then recovered and drove normally, or so I thought. The car now randomly acts like it has no gas, the symptoms I described before along with the obvious lack of power when I step on the gas. I have checked all the connections in the car, added dry gas, added fuel system cleaner, and filled the tank. When I was testing it in my driveway the sputtering, lack of power, etc. happened only randomly and it does not seem to be effected by the car being warm or cool. I think it is the oxygen sensor b/c my friend who recently had the exact same problems had to replace hers and the problem was fixed. Any advice would be super!
Thanks,
Erin
