I have an '86 SPG that has the whale tail on it and an '89 SPG that has one waiting to be installed.
Those two upper holes are not used in the whale tail install. There are rubber plugs that go in those holes that you will just barely be able to see once the whale tail is installed. You probably cannot get these plugs anymore. I can't post a pictuer here, but can send you some direct.
The five 'ribs' on the uderside of the whale tail should match up to the stock holes that held on the rubber spoiler. You will need to drill at least two holes towards the back of the spoiler where it curves. One thing you can do is make a paper template and tape it onto the trunk. Place the spoiler on the paper where you want it and trace around the outer edge. Look at the pattern, look at the bottom of the spolier, this will tell you where you need to drill through to install screws to pull the spoiler onto the trunk. Use washers behind the screws.
