and i wouldn't worry to much about destroying your new water pump,
the sand paper will work real good, so good when the cars running again you will notice a thick cloud of smoke trailing behind the car.
kinda like them steam engines, when or if you get pulled over for obstructing the other drivers vision on the road, just tell the officer....
with a smile,.. its a new hybrid prototype.

i suppose i should let you know on why the car will do this.

once sand paper is used no matter what kind little grits of sand are going to fall into the cylinders, and no matter how tedious you try to clean it out, your never going to get all them.
and well, with your new grits laying on top of the piston rings, all their waiting for is the motor to start, then their going to sand the piss out of the cylinder walls
but don't worry to much, when they make a big enough gap they will end up in the motor oils filter.
but by this time the cop should of pulled you over 2 or 3 times.
take caution on any product used that may fall in the chambers.
(steel wool, sand paper, metal scotch bright pads, them little kitchen things)
using razors is another caution, although it can be used with success, caution needs to be taken so the block doesnt end up with gashes,
(i tell you what, get rubber gloves and go to home depot and pick up xylene or toluene, and perhaps careful use of a razor with these products) these are a liquid hot enough to melt a shingle off a roof,.... how do i know this,... don't ask,
and it will be hot enough to melt gasket, then get a cloth rag and enjoy.
might i add,... the use of a respirator is a good idea to.
have fun
