If you've replaced calipers you can do it.
My 2c worth.
I used copper wire for the spacer as a I was too cheap to get the spacer tool. Wouldn't do that again.
Easiest way to put the spacer in the new pressure plate is to use the car a jack and a piece of wood.
If the reason for the change is failed clutch hydraulics its a lot harder and you may want to think about it or get the right tool!
Trying to do it in a day is hard as you'll need to resurface the flywheel. Mine was for a leaking slave and the surface was perfect so I didn't bother.
