Fried ECU--where is it? Posted by CBS [Email] ![]() ![]() |
On a recent previuos post (redundant statement?), I admitted that I arched the new clutch hydrolic cable accross the alternator positive cable...me not so smart for leaving the battery connected. Justin pointed out that I could have damaged the ECU. I assume that stands for Electronic Control Module. He also cited the ICU (what is this?). Anyhoo, the main question is where is the ECU (and ICU)located -- I assume it is a plug in module? A search turned up not much. I have the knee bolster out on both '88 SPGs, so it shouldn't be too hard to swap them...if I can find them. I hope I'm not turning into a saabnet-hooor, because my Bently Book is in the garage and that's at least 30 feet away! Since the idle is swinging wildly at cold start (didn't do this before arching), my instinct is that the switching the ECU's will do nothing, and I may need a new/rebuilt AMM. Do you guys trust the rebuilts? As an aside, Justin, how is your problem with the shaky boost at ~2-3 psi coming along.?
