great input...yes only on cold engine... Posted by CBS [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Is this happening only on a cold engine?, Siegfried, Tue, 6 Nov 2007 11:01:17 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
It does have new grommets for VC and IM. I will definitely check the line going through the firewall to pressure transducer and turbo gauge. I took particular care to try and seat the lines tight into the new/old grommets. I also tried to set base idle according to info here and Bently, but the multimeter wasn't cooperating. I settled for listening for the click when the TPS closed at idle. How tough is it to swap out TPSs? I will try Sieg's trick and disconnect the TPS.
Also silicone lines. Are all the hoses from the Saabsavior kit 3.5mm ID?
Another interesting observation is that I think (I will check again) when I disconnect the AMM, it idles fine, but won't accellerate properly. Although the AMM came from a known good idling car (same yr.). Does that seem proper?
I recently replaced the hose that goes from the throttle body down to the TBV. THere was a small ~3" brass pipe that fit into the throttle body that the hose went around -- a trasition male piece that fit into the throttle body. THis pulled easily out of the throttle body where in my swap car it is rigid into the throttle body. I can see where air could leek around this pipe transition. Are you supposed to be able to pull this out of the throttle body? Maybe time for some JB Weld?
Sorry for the long post and thanks for the replys.
