The idle on my 88 900T has now decided to run at around 1500+ RPM and gaining. I cleaned the AIC valve with no change after reconnecting the electrical connector and remounting the unit. I then started to tap the gold colored part of the unit with a screwdriver which immediately made the idle go down to a normal level. As soon as I stopped the tapping though, the idle shot right back up.
I also tried removing the electrical connection which did nothing but after I again tapped the unit without the electrical connector on, the idle went back down to around 850 but then started to stutter. I reconnected the electrical to the unit and the idle shot right back up to 1500+.
Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks!
