Here goes answers to a couple of your questions.

1) Not sure what is the problem with the noise / thumping sound from the RF area. Maybe the inner driver is broken? Can you actually drive the car? When my transmission went once it thumped with every wheel rotation, but it was VIOLENT and I couldn't go over about 5 mph.

2) Clutch. Yeah. Release bearing, pilot bearing ,could be that kind of stuff. If you get in there just replace the entire clutch assy and have the flywheel machined. Clutches on these cars are fairly easy (make SURE you read here how to do it or you'll have problems getting it out or back in, there are tricks/special tools you have to improvise)

3) Service manual. Buy a BENTLEY Saab 900 16valve 85-93 red service manual. The haynes is junk, don't buy it. Bentley is pretty good.

4) Sunroof motor is in the trunk, on the passenger side, you'll see it to the right of the spare tire. Often what happens is that 2 screws on the right/passenger side of it loosen up and wala, the motor gears don't make contact, and sunroof doesn't work. This is the normal failure mode. Do search here for more info, I'd bet this is your problem provided cables are intact (they don't normally break or tangle) and the motor is getting power and the switch is good).

5) Window motors. Typical. Do they move really slowly? Do they work at all? Half the time its the window switches themselves in the center console that mess them up, have pitted/dirty contacts, and stop working.

Welcome / good luck !
