wet weather issues

I’ve been having some rough running issues in wet weather for some time. The car is an 89 SPG. The symptoms, which occur like clockwork in wet weather:
The car starts fine. After about 30 seconds of idling, the idle starts to hunt pretty good from 500 – 1200 rpm. When the throttle is applied, the rpms will rise but then suddenly bottom out and nearly stall. It is impossible to drive the car at this point. The check engine light will then come on. After about 5-10 minutes of rough idling, it will smooth out. Then, I can drive away in the car and the CEL will go off. Now, the car is just fine and will remain fine until I park it again ad it cools off. Cold starts in dry conditions are uneventful.
The hall sensor mounting to the distributor had been broken, so it was just hanging. I fixed it with jb weld (probably overkill). This seems to have no real affect on how the car runs in wet weather. Do the symptoms I described seem like a hall sensor issue, or could it be AMM or something else?
