Thank you all for responding a few days ago, but I need one last boost for OR against this purchase. I'm going to look at a 1991 900 turbo convertible (manual) today and get it inspected. It has 170K and the tranny is doing that popping out in reverse uphill. Seems to be a common flaw in these years. Uggghhh. Forward gears still work like a champ, but I know those pieces of reverse gear are swimming around in there somewhere and it's just a matter of time, right?

Oh, and the top has some holes that have been patched and may need to be replaced eventually.

He's asking $1,500 and it seems like it will be a fun car for a couple of years...but I'm having second thoughts...which I hate.

Anyone?
