i would of called the cops on the spot Posted by vvack0matic [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Bummed, my SPG got hit today (long), Saab Junkie, Sat, 22 Dec 2007 11:12:47 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
(with out moving the cars)
& if they gave any crap about needing to be someplace id say go then buddy and when the cop gets here they can call it hit and run.
the main reason the officer needs to be at the accident is so he/she can personally witness the crash.
at which time they will fill out a report ensuring you are not at fault.
which when given to your insurance company your claim will not be delayed.
seeing you went home with-out the report its now your word against theirs.
unless they are real good nature and admit to the accident then your fine.
i heard of people admitting they will pay the total cost then when they see the bill deny everything to their dieing day.
if they want to play hard they can drag it out saying they dont know what your talking about,.. with out the police report your screwed.
now you got to get the lawyers involved to prove your case when it could have all been done with a simple phone call to get the document & 30 minutes in time, showing they screwed up.
you got my best wishes, good thing your son was there to witness it, he may need to take the stand in court if worst comes to worst.
