Turbo,
There are axle shafts of different lengths. Left and right are obviously different but there are also a few variations depending on other factors. Before replacing an entire axle assembly lay the new and old ones side by side and be sure that they are precisely the same length. If the inner driver is still attached keep in mind that the axle and tripod bearing slip in and out of the inner driver so be sure that the axles you are comparing are both pushed all the way into their inner drivers. Since I always like to install an axle with fresh grease and boots anyway I err on the safe side and only swap the terminal pieces and re-use the original axle shaft. If you do that you can't go wrong. Good luck
