Welcome over from the square side. My first car was an '82 245. I'm still trying to put more miles on my '88 900 so I can break my own record.
Turbos require more frequent oil changes. Somehow, right after GM took over (1989-2002) the oil change interval for turbos went from 3750 to 5000 and from 5000 to 10k (!) on nonturbos. The turbo engines didn't change, just the intervals did. You might notice that Volvo tried the same thing with the advent of free "factory-scheduled maintenance" in 2004 (10k on an S60 with a turbo) and by 60k the engines come back, just off warranty, completely sludged up.
Get the radio code from your dealer.
After any time I buy a new car, I go through and do the last major service. This includes all the filters (air, fuel, oil, others) and fluids (transmission, engine oil, brake, PS, coolant flush and replace with nonrecycled ethylene glycol) and a thorough inspection of safety items like bushings, brake components, wheels, tires, wipers, cabin vents, I can go on forever.
Depending on which Bricks you drove, you should notice that the front suspension bushings, steering racks, heater valves, and rear shocks last twice as long. Crosswinds are not quite so terrifying. Even though you can't use any wiper blade on the planet anymore (Saab windshields have a curve to them, and a complex one at that) the windshield will actually pick up less road spray.
Sunroof drain issues are similar to 740 sunroof drains.
You'll wonder where all the body lean went.
Similar to those other Swedes, your 900 will handle as well as whatever tires you put under it let it. Use long-wearing or crappy tires and the car may not be very precise. Use four snows in the winter and you'll be two steps above most multi-wheel-drive cars and trucks. Use good tires in the summer and understeer will nearly disappear until you get very close to the car's handling limits. The same applies for shocks. I don't exactly cringe when I have to drive my dad's 960 wagon, but it is a top-heavy box that's missing a pedal, drinks gas, and weighs too much. The difference between an 850 and a 900 is much smaller.

You'll want to refer to your hatchback in the future as a 3 door. The two-door 900 coupe was only imported to the US for 1985-86, though it was offered from '84-'90ish as the Saab 90 in other markets.

Similar to 240 owners, 900 owners treat the applicable Bentley repair manuals as their "Bibles." Get one if you plan on keeping the car, even if you won't do much of the service on it yourself.

Welcome to the world of aerodynamics!
