What you see in Jon's posted picture is the floor drain setup that I made to do this job. Sounds like Diskullman had the same kind of success -- just have to be very careful to evenly pull in the seal, and make sure that the inner part of the seal doesn't reverse. Like others have said, do not grease the OD, but I would butter up the ID so it slips over the crank. Do not seat the seal all the way, and try to find a spot -- don't put it exactly in the same spot as the previously installed seal. Good luck!
