I don't have any more pics right now, but I might have some more Thursday night. It's been a midwest car its whole life as far as I know. I'm not sure if I should even bother at this point, it looks like a lot of work. Not that I'm opposed to it, but I wonder if I shouldn't wait for something else (like when the person I sold my last car to decides to sell it). And I did see a white wire in the engine area that had cracking and a bit missing insulation on it. But it did seem like someone at least tried to keep it in decent shape -- they re-did the headliner and door panels (although in not-original type fabric) and put an odd blingy exhaust with two fartcan type things on it. The 'turbo' designation on the hatch lid appears to just be a sticker or decal.

The car's at an auction so I don't even know how much it would go for. I can't imagine it could be all too much, since it does need a lot of work and I can't imagine a dealer would bother with such an old car. I did see a '91 900 for sale recently at a small lot, and when the dealer wasn't looking we looked at the file on the car, and it turned out he bought it for something like $125 at an auction. Which is kinda the type of deal I'd be looking for.

I'm not that handy though as far as repairing stuff. I did a lot of repairs on my last one but nothing too involved like major engine work or body repairs. I suppose I could learn, and now I have a garage of my own to work/store it in. It'd be cool to bring it back to life.

As far as locating the specific areas you mentioned - rear shock mounting spots. and the a-arm spots, are those readily visible by looking in the trunk area and the underside of the front of the car?

There was also an '84 non-turbo listed locally for sale, and it looks nice, but I don't know if I could go back to the non-turbo days. My '90 was a non-turbo and I remember cursing at every stoplight when everyone would be going around me. Not sure I could go back. (Though I bet the gas mileage would be a bit better). And, I don't really understand the difference between the '84s 8-valve vs. the later 16-valve engines, and if it 'd be harder to work on and all that.

Thanks for the help!
