So it was a cold night here in CO, getting to -5 degrees (F) or so.
I started my '88T right up this morning, let it idle for about a minute, then gave it a little gas and started up the driveway.
Felt the car start accelerating a lot more than I desired, so I pushed in the clutch pedal, and the engine starts bouncing off the rev limiter(!) about three times before I kill it by switching the key off.
Seems to run just fine, after letting it warm up a bit more, then driving it gently.
Did I do any damage? Was there a better way to end the high revs without turning off the ignition?
Thank goodness it's warming up into the 40s for the weekend!
