& my tep gauge sky rocketed,
waiting for my order i was ready to turn to motor off,
it got to just under red-line and i was handed my order.
i raced to the parking lot and turned the motor off.

popped the hood, with the tep. as high as it was the fans were not running with the car off nor did they engage in the drive through. i proceeded to checked the fan fuse which looks like its a tad on the melted side, played with the ac fan relay but couldn't find anything that may have been wrong so i started the motor and still fans did not engage (temps are at 3/4ths at this point)
after engaging the a.c. both fans turned on, when i turned off the a.c. both fans continued to stay on and brought the heat way down to operating temps, after the fans turned off with the motor running i jumped the 80degree fan switch to see if the power was there, after jumping the switch both fans came on for the duration.
this episode happened last night, i kept an eye on the heat gauge all day and the fans have performed flawlessly in keeping the heat under control.

what im wondering is why in the first place didnt the fans come on sitting in the drive through.
for my car it was well above normal, (just a tad under red line)
(just a note: i installed a digital heat gauge previously and i have never seen my motor get as hot as it did, i started to think my hood was going to melt, or to see the paint start to blister)
(and yes im in the south where temps still hit around 80degrees)

anyone have an idea what might have gone wrong last night?
