Okay, I received a replacement hood when I purchased my 90 SPG. Original hood was slightly dented in the middle. The new hood is from a 900 turbo(not sure the year). First thing I tried to do was swap them out. Everything lined up except when I went to push the hood down. It seemed as though there was something pushing up on it in the middle. I assumed it was the spring mechanism. I decided to swap the spring mechanism from the old hood and put it on the new hood. Did this and found that the hood was sliding more left on the tracks. I loosened the bolts and slowly slid the hood on the tracks and found that the hood was able to close but still seemed like it had resistance right in the center of the hood where the spring brackets are. My question: Do I have a hood that will not fit my 90 Spg? What can I do to adjust the hood to make it fit? I have a feeling that maybe there is more to this than I had hoped. Any input on similar situations would be great.
Thanks so much.
