I will not get back to the car until Tuesday at the earliest. I really don't think that there is a crack in the tube however I will try and fill up the oil sump to check. The pickup tube is pretty heavy walled and I didn't bend it that far. That is sure alot easier than taking the engine out and apart. Another thought is the fact that during my assembly and working with the flywheel etc. I may have turned the engine over backwards. This could have forced some Vaseline back into the pickup tube instead of up the pipe like it should have been. Is that a possibility? I might put some compressed air down the pipe and see if anything happens.
