All performance tires wear fast. Unfortunately, that's the nature of the beast. Their softer rubber makes them stickier for performance driving at the sacrifice of tread wear. If this is only a drive-it-on-nice-days car, then treadwear probably is not a big issue. Most likely, you'll need to replace them from age before the tread wears out. I assume you are looking for performance if you are asking about a different size tire.
The tires that came stock on the CE's (195/60/VR15) also came on other 900 convertibles and the turbo models. They were only an optional upgrade for other Saab 900s which wore 185/65/15's. You can use the tire size calculator at the link below to check how different sizes will effect your speedometer accuracy. Be aware that a wider tire will have a lower profile as well. Some people don't like the difference in ride. It may be a little harsher than what your used to.
