Dead O2 sensor:
- can show full .1 - .9 V range but have deeeeelayed response
- can go below 0V
- can stuck at supply voltage (0.5V, FYI)
- can start working at temperatures higher then specs
You'd measure it with oscilloscope to be 100% sure since readings from simple AV-meter can determine 100% dead sensor only. In other words: if your multimeter showed dead 02 sensor then it's dead. But if it shoes live sensor then further diagnostics with more precise equipment is req'd to check it fully.
FIY: C900's on Japanese market suppose 02 sensor to be replaced every 48K miles. Or so.
