ok, i have a nice little shop, a pretty good collection of tools, lots of experience R&R'ing engines, etc, but have never rebuilt a transmission or a bottom end of an engine. i am thinking of attempting first one then maybe more 5 speeds, as they are pricy and the parts seem to be available easily.
so, are all the parts available? some sneaky ones that are expensive (i saw $250 for a reverse gear?), or some that just need to be salvaged?
can i do this with out training- ie. just from a book? that is how i have always done everything, a book and saabnet...
thanks for input on this.
