So I have the engine apart thinking I need new rings.

A little History, Modded 85 900 turbo
New 3 inch exhaust, turbo and head rebuild 2.1 intake, 2.1 cam, ported and matched ect.

I put all the above on after I toasted my head with out enough fuel for the boost I was running. I found 6 little cracks all along the valves and spark plug openings. I got it all put back together and "running". I was in the process of tuning it in when I figured I'd do a compression test. I found 3 and 4 to be low on compression.
1)155
2)151
3)70
4)140
I tried to single out the valves and the rings. I poured a little oil in each spark plug and the compression came up 1)175 2)168 3)152 4)165
So it must be the rings. Right?

Well cut to now, I pulled the engine broke it all down to a bare block. Looking at the rings, and they all look fine. I can't find anything unusual about any of them. The block looks good to me too. I can still see the factory markings on all the cylinders. (the chris crossing marks)

The only thing I can see that may be bad is on the pistons. There is some rough marks on the one side. But it's on all 4 of the and only on one side. I'm going to post some pictures on my gallery if you'd like to see, but I'm kind of bummed right now because I thought I'd see more then what I'm seeing. Can it be that the rings and just warned down smoothly? But why on only 3 and 4? Anyway, I'm stumped!
