It's a galvanized light sheet metal bracket, multi step like, zigs and zags and zigs again, with three holes in it for three switches - - cruise cutout for clutch pedal, brake light switch, and cruise cutout for brake. It's bolted to a black-painted heavier-steel bracket coming out of the firewall and made to the body, with a single 13mm-head bolt and a tang of the sheet metal into a second hole to hold it in place.
I didn't drop mine off its mounting but it seemed like it's possible that if you got that bolt out, the bracket and attached switches would drop down to where you COULD see it and handle it and replace or fix the bad switch, then by feel get the whole bracket back up and in. Anyone know?
This is all way up over where your feet go, and in behind the "knee bolster" padded leatherette-covered cover that goes all across below the dash.
Working in there isn't easy, but maybe with a flashlight and skinny hands you could get the job done without dropping the bolster.
On one of my cars the brake switch was occasionally sticking on, and I got an adjustable wrench up in there, closed it tight onto the bracket, and twisted it to bend the bracket, getting the tiny bit of adjustment I needed to make brake light switch work reliably. But cruise never worked on that car - - bending the bracket might ruin your cruise settings if you have cruise.
