For the most part this board is filled with good thoughts regarding the Lucas product for our autos. Having lost 3 automatics and never getting beyond 60k on them...I wish I tried Lucas. Let me say, once the start slipping or shifts are "jittery" there nothing you can do. To add to the pain, my indy is great and all they do is Saabs (for 25 years plus) and they won't touch the automatics. Theres only a few shops (rebuilders) that have the fortitude to work on the auto and most, if not all, rely on good old fashion Type F flush, Lucas and maybe (with risk) will adjust the bands.
So what am I saying...sounds like your tranny is displaying the classic symptoms of failure (time is not on your side) and Lucas appears to help those not unlike yourself. You may not have much to lose. There are plenty of posts on Lucas, so I'm certain after reviewing the posts you'll come to a sound conclusion.
