Not unusual for valve lifter noise if car sat for an extended time say 2 months or longer. . Of course follow advice about checking oil pressure, change you oil to recommended grade, and your perferred oil and use about a half quart of Winns mystery oil. It frees up sticky valves really well and does no dammage as far as I can tell. I've used it in my Saabs about 10 years, but especially if I buy one thats sat and it has lifter noise. Clears right up in a short time. BUT again check oil pressure FIRST. Always a possibility that something thinned your oil, like a non firing cyl that would allow unburned fuel to get into oil although most would just be exhausted out the cyl. Good luck Frank
