Hi all,
Just posting some recent events to see it is sparks any memories of similar problems.
This is a really random problem, so it has been very difficult to track down. Basically sometimes when starting off from a stop light, the car will suddenly lose power for a millisecond. It will give you a good jolt into your steering wheel. :-) On the freeway it does it too sometimes, hesitating here and there for a millisecond. I do not pick up hesitations if it is simply idling or at full throttle (the car boosts fine). It really seems to happen more at low to medium throttle.
The car has a new air filter, new air mass meter, brand new bougicord ignition wires. The spark plugs are NGK, and relatively new (7k miles). The Bosch cap and rotor are also relatively new. Fuel filter and fuel pump were recently replaced. We tried cleaning out the connector to the hall sensor; shaking the wires didn't produce any hiccups.
Messed up ECU? ICU?
