I haven't bought o-rings separately from online suppliers. Instead i've usually bought packs/kits of o-rings intended for generic R-134a conversions. Almost any general autoparts store (Autozone etc.) should have these and you can do multiple conversions with the number of o-rings provided. Ask for the kit intended for "european cars". Sometimes these come with new valves as well. As for the evacuation . . . like i said, others will insist that you need to evacuate first. It likely yields superior results but I haven't done it and the AC seems to work fine. When i actually tried to find someone to do this one shop gave me a condescending (and incorrect) lecture about how much oil to put in the system and the other the shop had the car for 10 hours and then told me they couldn't get access to the filler ports.
