OK I have a SAAB (93 non turbo 2.1) And an MGB and an Oldsmobile 88 (92). Another car is as useful an another hole in my head. But I'm old and getting stupid.

But I've been offered an 84 325e/E30 bimmer coupe for less than my Social Security Check. cosmetics, body and interior are really good. A theft recovery as I understand, missing radio and ignition switch is out with wires hanging--use a screwdriver to start the car. Sun roof, hope the driver window is just down and not broken out (or worse, broken electrics) but has 220K miles, that's not good. but...it seems it might make a good partner for the SAAB. (I claim that if you are going to own only old cars, better have more than 1 or else you will have to walk further and more often than you want to).

seriously, is the E30 a good solid piece of kit?...this seems to be from year 1 (84 model year). parts prices and such seem to be comparable to the SAAB. My SAAb needs headliner, had the dash half ripped out by a Bad Guy, broke lots of inner parts, and will cost a fair piece to repair. But it drives real nice even it it doesn't look that nice.

OK. I'm standing here...throw knives and fighting stars and other stuff. When I'm thru dusting them off, I'll broach the subject with my wife (she doesn't throw little stiff like that...but guilt, sofas, and ovens and stuff!<g>)
