second, i assume PR valve is the same as the ones on the 16v turbo's? tube type deal with some small holes? i got mine out without any kind of MM removal, and used my little finger to slide the tube out. i also used the oil pump's pressure to push it out once-just one quick crank on the starter did the trick. from everything i've read on this valve, and my experience with it, there is never anything to see once it's out-the small piece of junk that jammed it has now flowed out with the trickle of oil.
I did read your post shortly after you posted it, but decided i had no useful input regarding the MM removal, as i did not need to do it that way, and did not understand why you did. however, i contorted myself into strange shapes to actually do the job without removing anything else, so i guess that was the reason.
