shift linkage tapered pin Posted by CMyles [Email] (#1126) [Profile/Gallery] (more from CMyles) on Mon, 9 Jun 2008 12:44:42 In Reply to: Chain Guides, philB, Mon, 9 Jun 2008 12:34:22 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
philB,
The old V4 cars, model 95,96 and 97 (Sonett) from the '60s and 70's had the same pin except that it had threads on both ends. You could remove the nut from the small end and, since the big end would be recessed when pulled in tight, screw it on the big end and it would draw the pin back out. I guess it cost too much money to make it that way when the 900 came along. Otherwise a "C" clamp with a sleeve (like a 1/4"x20 nut) seems to work about half the time. Cheers
