Hello all,

Does anyone on the boards have access to the stock Clarion stereo codes? I have a tape deck given to me in a box of parts (i suspect the car is that it was in has long gone to crusher) however no codes were provided. I looked carefully on both the cage and the unit for a code (scribbled down by a previous owner perhaps) but no luck.

I phoned my local dealership (in Richmond, BC) however they were confused and a bit unhelpful. The woman i talked to asked me to give her the unit serial number (the unit serial is 0044067) which i did. However she kept insisting that the number i gave her was incorrect and told me the stereo serial number should start with "YS". I recognized this as the first two letters of the typcial C900 VIN number and politely suggested that she was asking for the VIN (which i told her i didn't have) not the serial number. Eventually i just gave when she implied that i was wasting her time.

I would very much like to get rid of the aftermarket unit in one of my cars and bring back the look of the original clarion unit- i only listen to talk radio in the car anyway. It would be nice not to throw this thing into the trash.
