I used Blue coils as upgrades on any car I had with a coil. They worked well.

You make a good point about multi-prong plugs. You'll get spark from only one prong. The advantage of multi-prong plugs is that they are more foul-resistant - even if one prong gets messed up, the spark can jump to another.

With turbocharged cars, spark strength is critical, because the higher the cylinder pressure, the harder it is to make a spark jump. Spark jump is a function of voltage and gap. It takes more voltage to jump a larger gap. It takes even more voltage to jump a larger gap at higher pressure, like under boost. Gunk on the plugs and bad wires all act to essentially increase the gap.

But frankly, even a weak spark is a pretty violent thing. If you get a spark, the proper gas-air-pressure mixture will burn. A Glow-Like-The-Sun spark isn't going to do a better job, because the fuel only gets ignited in the area of the spark - the flamefront goes out from there, igniting more gas. So fancier spark plugs, more voltage, etc., is only there to deal with less than ideal conditions - fouled plugs, weak wires, high pressure, less than ideal fuel-air mixtures, etc. So really, one is better off spending the money to get the car running right (timing, fresh wires, good gas, clean air filter, no vacuum leaks) than getting a bigger spark.
