I believe that all of the four door parts are the same from any year. I had a 1987 and setup my little brother with a 1993. The big difference is 1991 went to the 2.1 NA engine, and the early 4D 1987 had LH different. But the turbo engine blocks and other than LH stuff is all the same from 1988 to 1993 plus 1994 convertible with two exceptions, went from garrett turbo to mitsubshi turbo, and the AIC may be three wire or two wire. Just get the same. You can bolt the mistu right up. suspension parts would be the same for any year from 1988 to the end of the run. 1987 and earlier is different on the brakes, hubs, and wheels, so generally skip that range (some items are the same but AVOID the A arms as there was a known manufacturing issue with that YM).
Ask any specifics. Oh, the window lift switches went from individual switches ganged together at the location between the seats to a single unit that plugs into a single plug, 1991 I believe, so that's out. Window lift motors all the same on the same side of the car. Right side front or rear door is the same and also the same as the right side three door. Woo hoo! more spares! somewhere on the board someone noted about getting the window edge wiper rubbers from a VOLVO and turning them around and cutting them shorter and they were a direct fit, or did I dream that?
