1979-1993 & 94 Conv [Subscribe to Daily Digest] |
Hi,
I'm having an auto to 5-speed conversion done on my '92 turbo 900 w/~72k on it. Based on various posts and the excellent conversion document by Mark Jeter, I think I've got my bases covered. However, I don't want the shop to get 1/2 way through and get stuck on anything with no way to move the car. Below is the list of parts I have and a few further questions I'd appreaciate anyone's input on. Is there anything not on here that is necessary and/or highly desirable for the conversion?
rebuilt transmission from a '91 (Erikkson)
flywheel for turbo/manual
flywheel bolts (are bolts off the same year manual non-turbo the same?)
oil pick-up tube for manual
oil pick-up tube o-ring
shift selector rod/shift housing/firewall boot for shift coupler (already assembled from a '92)
shift coupler, pin, associated washers
transmission gasket set from eeuroparts
tranny dipstick o-ring, tranny dipstick
positive battery cable for manual
lower radiator hose
clutch master,
clutch slave,
clutch pressure plate,
clutch disc,
clutch shaft seal
clutch shaft cover seal
pilot bearing,
release bearing
clutch hydraulic line
plastic clutch cover
manual console
clutch pedal and/or clutch/brake pedal assembly
new bushings, nuts, bolts, and spring for clutch pedal
oil pump seal
oil pump o-ring
rear crankshaft seal
suspension and clutch spacer tools
home-made triangular nut removal socket for shift housing
Have I missed anything?
From the conversion document, what is a spring diaphragm assembly, propeller bolt, and plate spring? Are these parts of the clutch parts above or do I need to purchase anything else?
I'm debating the sawing approach versus installing entire clutch/brake pedal assembly. any thoughts?
As the car is relatively young mileage-wise, I didn't buy the new motor mount or a-arm bushings which could be changed when motor is out. Is this a mistake?
Thank you!
Katie
