do it when the car is cold. put a rag around the base of the accumulator, there may be a little discharge of vapor (brake fluid) when you crack the seal. the hardest part of this is loosening the old accumulator without stripping the hole at the top of the accumulator. Use a nice big ratchet or breaker bar to get good leverage, but apply slow, steady pressure until it loosens, and try not to put too much lateral pressure at the accumulator's neck. Don't 'rock' it to break it loose.
My GM/Buick Reatta replacement came w/ the o-ring (black I think, not red like the saab part?). Search the board for accumulator posts, I believe you want to leave the new accum. a little loose, turn the car on so the ABS pump comes on, and step on the brake to bleed the air from the accum. threads. It shouldn't be necessary to bleed the brakes, but it can't hurt. When you start the car, I think it takes a minute for the accumulator to re-pressurize, so the abs/fluid light will be on. But after that, you shouldn't see it for more than a second or two on start up. Be sure and check your fluid and top up after it pressurizes.
