I've driven a few. The handling overall is nearly as adhesive as a C900 but feels flimsy. The clutch (cable-actuated) sucked. The shifter throws were just as long and vague as the linkage on my '88 and not as precise as the ones on my '92. There is more plastic everywhere and the doors felt on the cheap side. The hood opens the wrong way, the windshield lacks the distinctive shape (and all its advantages) of the C900, and it doesn't have as much ground clearance. (I drive in snow.) I remember the steering being a little overboosted and lacked the crisp feedback and feeling of the C900, but not nearly as much as other cars lately. The climate controls were way, way, way too complex, as was the radio. I looked under the hood and noticed it was more difficult to DIY a bunch of stuff and noticed that there isn't as much you can do on a budget to make it go faster. (or more efficiently, as I was checking). The car weighs around 250 pounds more than a C900. The sheet metal is half as thick in most places.
Can you really get a fuel pump for $250? Do you have any idea if the rest of the car has been maintained?
