Thanks!

More on my 1st weekend with the 900. We have had 3-4 days of heavy downpours with tornado warnings in my area. Friday I felt the rear carpet in the passenger footwell area and it was pretty soaking wet. When I bought the car I checked all carpets (as best I could) for wetness and all areas were bone dry. I searched on this site and based on a few threads I figured taking the carpet/carpet pads out was the first step to solving the water problems. I took out the front and rear seats. Very easy btw. Found a few used condom wrappers, 1 used condom (yuck) three different roach clips, (one was about 8" long!) 5 roaches (not the kind with legs), about $3. worth of change, 20 forever postage stamps, and two dry cleaning tickets. After inventorying my "bounty" I took out the carpets and carpet pads. As I expected the rear drivers side pad was soaked along with the front drivers side area under the pedals. I found a slightly rusted area on both the passenger and drivers side coinciding with the under side frame rail areas that are starting to rust. Nothing bad but definitely needs to be addressed. I vacuumed out everything replaced the center console and all side strips, put the seats back in and decided to leave the carpets and carpet pad out. I did put the floor mats back in place. After drying out the floor I closed the roof and went to town with the shoe goo (as mentioned in my first post) I let the goo dry (it was 80+ most of the day yesterday) We had some pretty serious downpours last night. This morning I went to check on the interior for leaks and I am happy to report no water in the car. My plan is to keep the carpet and carpet pad out until I have a new roof installed next spring. Thanks again for all the welcoming well wishes. I love my saab!
