Low grade: 23.5 RUR per liter (for vintage and very old trucks)
Normal (~ 87 RON US): 25 RUR per liter
Premium: 26.5 RUR per liter
Super-Premium (98 ROZ ~= 95 RON): 29 RUR per liter
Diesel: 26 RUR per liter (a month ago it was only 22 RUR - nice jump, uh)
LPG (liquid propane): 13 RUR per liter
BigMack (McD's): 55 RUR
USD/RUR= 23.3 RUR per USD
Gallon/liter: 3,7854 liter per gallon
So we've got about $4 per gallon of typa Normal gas (which can turn out to be asinine urine EVEN at some brand-name gas stations). And it'll have $5 sticker by the end of the year.
And note: we're producing oil and selling it. You're only buying it.
Taxes: gas prices incorporate only federal taxes that have nothing in common with road taxes or such. This tax goes to federal budget and feds can use these money for any purposes (e.g. Sochi Olympic Games).
Every year each of us receives "a letter of fortune" with a form from FTS. Tax rate depends on registered engine's power (rates below are for passenger car of a natural person):
below 70 bhp: 0
70-100 bhp: 7 RUR per each bhp
100-150 bhp: 30 RUR per bhp (C900 lpt having 145 bhp is about $190 annual; nice thing is that I can mod it to FPT or SPG or even CE/Carlo specs and it'll remain having 145 bhp on the paper cause engine's #id remains the same :) - otherwise it'll be $340 for SPG)
150-200 bhp: 45 RUR per BHP
200-250 bhp: 75 RUR per BHP
250+: 150 RUR per bhp (thus Turbo X costs 280x150=42K RUR=1802 USD annual)
Not too much? Man, I DON'T SEE WHERE THIS TAX IS GOING TO! We still don't have a highway that spreads for more than 100 miles. Just did a 4K trip a month ago - know what? First 150 miles were about "highway", next 70 or sort of "direction", after that it was a nice road but not a highway, next 30 miles - "direction", road, "direction", a small piece of highway, then road, direction, road, direction... Last 100 miles before Rostov-na-Donu (pretty huge and important city in the south region) - it turned to be a sort of highway but with lots of towns thus 40 mph limit of almost all those 100 miles.
Or, and here goes my favourite tax: OSAGO (mandatory insurance tax of civil/driver liability). It has many q-factors but it costs about $200 for me (ehhh... say for certain pair: the car + the owner). And it covers...
Guess?
Any ideas?
Wrong.
Wrong again.
The last try...
$10K. Total. Per year.
So if I crash into a Bentley (3x knock!) and hurt somebody - this will allow cover about 3-6 months of treatment of that very person and there'll be nothing for the Bentley. And if a drunk m/f-er smashes into my C900 I'll get... Say $200. Or $500. Because it's an old car thus it SHOULD have cheap parts and they don't care if it was looking great or rubbish just before the accident.
Zig
P.S.
I'm sorta COO/CTO here. Having $24K annual. Oh... ~$26K annual incl extras. Can grow upto $36K ($40K with bonuses incl'd).
I think my $24K are just the same to yours $50-60K: middle-sales, sheriff, etc
P.P.S
%50+ of the world live for less than $1 a day.
