yes, you take an 11 mm socket and basically mark sixths around the thing and then cut everyother one out. I used a makita grinder with a cutting wheel and mounted the socket in a vise. get it close and then adjust it to get it to fit.
You can also use a pair of large needle nose pliers, but the socket is easier.
