Wait, you missed mine! Posted by Justin VanAbrahams [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Missed my point, whitesaab, Wed, 13 Aug 2008 10:32:58 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
My point was that I've sold dozens (literally) of ~$2000 Saabs and I'd never have a problem with someone checking out a problem and getting an unbiased opinion on any of my claims. I don't see the issue.
The inspection doesn't change the "as is" scenario, it simply gives the buyer the opportunity to have someone verify the seller's claim, and to pass on the purchase if there are inaccuracies.
It's pretty rare that I would take a seller's word for anything, and when it comes to "needs an alignment," that can pretty readily mean frame damage or substantial steering/suspension issues (SJB's point, I think). If the seller isn't willing to take one hour of his life and let a buyer have an inspection done, it's worth walking away. A $1650 car that needs an alignment is one thing, a $1650 car that needs a new steering rack or worse is something else entirely.
