Drilled the four rivets out...being a geek as well as a Saabnut
found small computer sheet metal screws to hold the plate on
and found that the problem was that the steel insert on the nylon
internal gear had rusted what once was a rectangular opening into
an ovoid allowing the shaft driving the external brass sun gear to spin
freely.
I cleaned everything with throttle body cleaner, and tried to
figure out how I could lock the insert to the gearshaft again. 1st
try was a glacier point. (see pic...)that only lasted 4 ups and
downs. Finally I settled on a pointed sheet metal screw with some
loctite blue to discourage it from backing out.
Window works great again except now the front part of the window
is lower than the back, not sure why that is???
