some of the slaves use a harded chrome plated sleeve, those are the ones to rebuild - too bad you had to cut that one!
Some of the slaves use an aluminum sleeve and wear easily and tear up the gaskets and fail sooner and sooner, should avoild rebuilds on these - but the good part is that they will cut faster! See Reference Photo - 007
See my Reference Photos - Tools 0013 and 0014 to see the tool used to compress the pressure plat and insert the hoop keeper when the slave is dead (or the engine/trans is out of the car). It has two functions, one is to hook over one of the rectangular openings in the pressure plate to use as a pivot point and force the release bearing into the fingers of the pressure place, it can push it all the way home, to all the hoop keep to snap into place. The other function, pretty cool actually, is to remove the splined drive shaft, you put a bolt into the end of the shaft, put the head of the bolt through the keyed hole on the handle (picture -0014) and drop down so that it is captured, then you lever the tool against an area near the motor mount and pop the shave out. very cool!
