The best sound that I have found is to install a 6" or 6.5" driver set in the side panels at the back seat. My 1990 900 has this now (I'll post a pic later). They are Boston Acoustics, have a separate tweeter and crossover. The side panels provide decent enclosure for the bass drivers, and you can aim the tweeters forward. Rest your head against the headrest, and it's almost like putting headphones on. I also have a cheap Kenwood sub under the driver seat. With my Alpine head, and iPod, it all works very well together.
