but haven't in a long time. My 1990 900 has probably the original factory fill in it, and I don't plan on changing it at all. The transmission has over 300,000 miles.
Personally, on a base or S that shifts just fine, I wouldn't mess with it at all. The original Saab 70W gear oil that was put in from the factory is very good, and as you don't have a turbo trying to shear the oil apart, it'll last a very long time.
I even had a tranny rebuilt and had a friend who had some of the original Saab gear oil (not available in the US). I got that oil from him, and that was the best shifting rebuild I've ever used.
I have not used the Honda stuff, so I've no opinion of that.
