If you try this let us know what road your engine parts will be scattered on some of us may need them--just kidding. ;-)
What benefit do you hope to get with the 9000 electronics? Is that system better in some way? I'd imagine it is calibrated to the larger displacement of the 2.3L engine. I'm not sure how that effects things. I'm certainly no expert there, but I'd imagine that you'd need to have it recalibrated.
I think the benefit of the 2.3 head is that it flows better, not that it will give you a higher-displacement engine. I believe the block is where displacement is calculated.
As an aside, back in the early 90's chrysler made a "common block" engine. It was used on the 2.2L and 2.5L turbo engines. The displacement difference was achieved by using a longer-throw crank and "tuna can" pistons. By using the shorter pistons and different crank, they increased the displacement without changing anything else. Doing that to Saab engine would be a neat trick.
